Lady Bay Primary School, Nottingham, September 2016 - July 2017
Led Workshop where we created and developed a story telling area for the children to help them utilise their concrete jungle of a playground in a more creative and nature based manner.
Glamis Castle, Glamis, Scotland, February 2017 - July 2017
A Royal Commission to provide a means of attracting more people to the Gardens and encourage them through the Pinetum. We created several large scale pieces based around Macbeth, which has links to Glamis, from local timber. The commission involved a lot of national press engagement and was a highly successful installation. We engaged local schools in the process, leading them in workshops based on using literary inspiration for sculpture.
Coldicotes Primary Academy, Middlesborough, July 2016 - February 2017
We created a large wooden comic book with panes directly designed by the children. Some panes were left blank to encourage an ever changing creative process through the lifespan of the sculpture through which the children could observe their surroundings and respond to them. We led creative worshops with the children to get their ideas and designs. The workshops involved eliciting their responses to their school and environment and getting them to construct 2D, and 3D, cartoons of their ideas.
Lambley Primary School, Nottingham, June 2015 - April 2016
With a piece of local history as a starting point, we engaged the children with a series of creative workshops during which they created a story, based around their environment, and maquettes for some interactive sculpture. We used this process to inspire the final piece.
Brodsworth Hall, English Heritage, Doncaster, March 2015 - October 2015
A challenging design process with various restraints led to us creating a wooden sculpture to commemorate an historic fallen Cedar tree. It's the only piece of contemporary sculpture ever at the property and of a very limited number throughout the North of England.
Holme J&I School, Holmfith, Huddersfield, October 2015 - January 2015
We led creative workshops with the children to direct them into producing their own communal story based on their location and surroundings. We used this story to design and create a large interactive wood sculpture which is installed in the playground.
Ty Mawr Country Park Welcome Project, Wrexham, June 2015 - November 2015
A large grant funded, public art commission during which we were the sole artists responsible for leading community and school workshops, designing and creating multiple wooden sculptures for the site. We were in control of budgetary management and public engagement. The work was a response to the surroundings, its history and the public engagement.
Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary, Bury, August 2014 - November 2014
Designed and created both large and small wooden sculptures throughout the site to promote the sanctuary and provide a better visitor and volunteer experience. Sculptures were figurative and a response to the animals at the sanctuary. Large Grant funded project.
National Trust Hardcastle Crags, Hebden Bridge, October 2014
We created various wooden sculptures inspired by the surroundings and engaged with visitors to the site during the sculpting process.
